The weekend of 29th/30th October saw a small team of our Juniors compete at the Flitwick Dolphins Open Meet at Saxon Pool in Biggleswade.

16 young RSC swimmers attended; 10 girls and 6 boys on the Saturday with 7 girls and 5 boys returning on the Sunday. This has  always proved to be a very well run and catered for event and on this occasion lived up to it’s expectations. The children were delighted that in addition to the chance to win medals, they also had a chance to win a Spot Prize of a £5 Love2shop voucher for the winner of each heat that was randomly chosen from each event.  Each time the bell rang to signify the heat that a Spot Prize was about to be swum, loud cheers would chorus from all of the swimmers!

Saturday’s Spot Prize winners were Caitlin Hopkins in 100m freestyle and Mollie Chapman in 200m Breaststroke, with Sunday’s Spot Prize winners Gracie Ridout 200m fly and Ashleigh Bales 50 fly.

Medals were being won thick and fast with 18 gold, 7 silver and 14 bronze  medals achieved overall and a fantastic 38 pb’s from 46 races swam!
