The 2010 Northamptonshire County Championships turned out to be the most successful ever for RSC, a fitting achievement to mark the club's 80th birthday. A record 30 swimmers (14 girls, 16 boys) were competing and by the end of the Championships 120 PBs had been achieved including 48 club records and 14 Regional qualifying times.

Competition got underway in February with the 1500m and 800m freestyle taking place at Corby over separate weekends. In the 1500m all three of our swimmers finished in the top 10. Andrew Ward (age group 15 years) was 6th, Marcus Eaton (15 yrs) 7th and Jack Britchford (13 yrs) 9th. All the boys achieved PBs. The 800m resulted in even more success with five swimmers in the top 10 this time, more than any other club. Andrew Ward (15 yrs) was 4th, Laurence Stead (14 yrs) 5th, Marcus Eaton (15yrs) 7th, Jack Britchford (13 yrs) 8th and Ian Yarwood (14 yrs) 10th. Once again all achieved excellent PBs.

The shorter events took place over the first two weekends in March. The 50m sprints in all strokes plus the 100/200m Individual Medleys were held at Daventry's 25m pool, while the Corby 50m pool hosted the 100/200/400m events. At the end of this exhausting schedule a superb set of results had been achieved.
